Air New Zealand Limited (AIR.NZX)

5 April 2018

Technical Summary: For the most part the stock of AIR has traded in an uptrend but with some significant volatility over the last five years. This is perhaps typical of an airline. Moving from left to right on the 1 year chart above. The stock was on a tear initially as it ran up from $2.40 to nearly $3.60 per share in just a couple of months. The stock them embarked on a desending consolidation period that threatened to turn into a down trend without ever getting concerning for long term holders. More recently the stock has kicked up above its 50 day moving average and has posted a couple of higher lows, this we consider as constructive. Due to the overhead supply we would ideally like to see the stock consolidate perhaps for a week or so before setting up for further upside. A break to the downside (a lower low) would be considered bearish.

Is AIR ready for takeoff? Excuse the pun
