Global markets were mixed on Friday (S&P 500 Index +0.05%) although US technology stocks continued to slide in a volatile session which ended with US markets little changed.

Global markets were mostly higher overnight (S&P 500 Index +1.3%), as US stocks rose on signs of progress in developing a covid-19 vaccine and as a spurt of multi billion-dollar deals lifted investor optimism.

Global markets closed lower overnight (S&P 500 Index -2.8%) as US stocks fell for a third straight session on Tuesday as heavyweight technology names extended their sell-off.
