Global markets were mixed overnight, as US markets (S&P500 index +0.3%) were up for a third day in a row as Wall Street edges closer to all-time highs – as investors bet the economy will buck the omicron threat.

Global markets were higher overnight, US markets (S&P500, up +1.1%) shaking off omicron concerns and erasing last week’s losses, on reports the new covid variant is relatively mild.

Global markets were lower on Friday, as US markets (S&P500 -0.8%) fell after a disappointing November jobs report, as well as covid omicron variant concerns weighing down on the market in a highly volatile week of trading.

Oceania has had a volatile run over the last 6-months, rallying strongly then pulling back as NZ was put into lockdown and the RBNZ implemented rate hikes. We see the recent Oceania sell off as overly harsh and there appears to be solid support at $1.29.
