Rio Tinto Limited (RIO.ASX)

22 November 2017

Technical Summary: The “gappy” character of the RIO chart does not reflect a lack of liquidity as it does with many companies but instead the fact that the stock trades over night in international exchanges, making it an around the clock stock. The stock has recently made a series of higher lows as the stock trends up within a trading range. This can be traded by mean reversion traders that may look to buy at the bottom or the range and sell at the top. While a low risk buying opportunity for trend followers could be to buy at the bottom of the range and hold on until the stock either becomes overextended or for it to break through its lower band.
