Global Markets tumbled on Friday after the US-China trade war escalated in dramatic fashion.

Global markets were ​mixed overnight with shares on Wall Street more or less flat as a slide in technology companies offset a rally in bank shares.

It was a massive day in terms of stocks reporting under our research coverage. Announcements were made by companies including Spark, Fletcher Building, A2 Milk, Wisetech, and Select Harvests.

Closer to home, Tuesday saw the IPO listing of Napier Port, with demand for the stock seeing it close the day up +13.5% to $2.95 a share.

Global markets were higher overnight as US and European stocks began the week strongly as investors bet monetary policy will remain easy as central bankers work to stoke economic growth.

Closer to home, the local focus will likely remain on company earnings announcements, with a number of ASX/NZX heavyweight stocks reporting results this week.
